The GeoGebra Institute of TURKEY is a virtual, not-for-profit organization which has established IGI goals.

GeoGebra Institute of TURKEY have coordinated and provided professional development opportunities both pre-service and in-service teachers in Turkey, have developed and shared workshop resources and classroom materials in Turkish,  have conducted and supported GeoGebra-related research which focuses on the teaching and learning of mathematics.

GeoGebra is free open-source dynamic software for mathematics teaching and learning that offers geometry and algebra features in a fully connected software environment.

GeoGebra is dynamic mathematics software (DMS) designed for teaching and learning mathematics in secondary school and college level. GeoGebra was translated in to Turkish by  Erol KARAKIRIK, Mustafa DOĞAN and Süleyman CENGİZ. The software combines the ease of use of a dynamic geometry software (DGS) with certain features of a computer algebra system (CAS).

Goals:

1. Training and Support: To coordinate and provide professional development opportunities and support for both pre-service and in-service teachers.
2. Development and Sharing: To develop and share workshop resources and classroom materials, and to continually improve and extend the dynamic mathematics software GeoGebra.
3. Research and Collaboration: To conduct and support GeoGebra-related research which focuses on the teaching and learning of mathematics in order to inform and improve training and development activities, and to promote collaboration between IGI and local GeoGebra Institutes and between international colleagues.
